The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another. Nama means bow, as means I, and te means you. Therefore, namaste literally means "bow me you" or "I bow to you.""

Last night I tried my first class of yoga, and will gladly be going back every week from now. That one hour, consisted of breathing, stretching, holding poses, spiritually opening the heart, self reflection, and positive wishful thinking for others.

As I attended the class by myself, and this being the first time I've tried yoga, I must admit I was A bit nervous. As the hour subtly passed, I later found myself carrying a spiritually opened heart and in a state of being completely and utterly relaxed.
